FRANKENDIE on Kickstarter!

Posted: December 20, 2011 in Uncategorized

FrankenDie is NutForge Games‘ inaugural project. It is Al Leduc’s first game, and features terrific artwork from Darren Calvert. NutForge Games launched FrankenDie on Kickstarteron November 23, 2011. The campaign, which runs until January 8, 2012, has a goal of raising a minimum of $9,500 for the first round of manufacturing. Any surplus funding could also allow us to offer upgraded components.

About the Game: FrankenDie is a fast-paced, reflex party game for 3 to 6 players. Combining the tactile nature of dice rolling, the excitement of a “first to buzz in” mechanism, and pattern recognition to exercise your brain, we’re confident that FrankenDie will bring your party to life!

Become a Part of the Game: What we’re really excited about, is that gamers can become a part of our game! Not just in name, but they can be illustrated into the game’s components (as fearsome Creatures or insane Mad Scientists), by our top-notch artist. If that sounds as awesome to you as it does to us, then check out our GO MAD! pre-order packages.

About NutForge Games: NutForge Games is a game publisher who uses non-traditional marketing and publishing methods and believes in the power of unplugged gaming. Sitting at a table, in person, with family and friends is a sensational way to build lasting relationships and friendships. The founders (Lucas Castro and Marquis Cote) have also developed 3 initiatives to promote creativity and social interaction, via the power of unplugged games. The first is an organization called Games for All; the second is a gaming convention called the Game Summit; and the third is an upcoming fair, the Toy & Game Expo.

We love games, and we’re eager to share them with as many people as possible.

Nightlight Interviews

Posted: December 18, 2011 in Uncategorized

Nightstalker Games has a literary section of our website we call Scratchmarks Magazine. In this section, we publish game related articles and reviews as well as fictional stories and other works. We are proud to announce a new feature called Nightlight Interviews. We will be interviewing various game designers who have had their work published commercially or through their own self-publishing means such as The Game Crafter.

This is great opportunity to read about the various designers behind some interesting games. This is also a chance for little known designers to have their voice heard and shine a light on undiscovered games. If you are a game designer, we want to hear from you! Take advantage of this opportunity to tell the world about yourself and your game designs in a public forum. This will help you gain more exposure and build your network while educating the gaming community about games they may not have heard of.

We are also interested in hearing from you if you are preparing for your game to be published via methods such as Kickstarter. This would be useful to bring more attention to your funding campaign and build “buzz” for your upcoming game. Part of the philosophy of Nightstalker Games is to help build up the community of game designers and this is your opportunity to be heard. So what are you waiting for? If you would like to be interviewed, send an email with the subject line, Nightlight Interview to: nightstalkergames@gmail.com

We are also open to submissions of game related articles, reviews and short stories. If you have something to share, let us know!

To celebrate the 1 year anniversary of Nightstalker Games, we will be releasing two new games this month. Fallen Order was the first game announced and we are now pleased to announce the upcoming release of Animus!
Animus is the ultimate, character crossover, card battle game! Draft characters from different worlds, dimensions and even other games! To win you must take advantage of the various abilities and powers to maximize your resistances and strike at your opponents weaknesses! Tactical maneuvering is crucial as you battle for dominant positioning! You will be able to battle using characters from other Nightstalker Games including Dragon Blast and Monster Kids! This game will also debut the E=Cube system. The E=Cube is a system of elements and forces that can be added to a game to create another dimension of strategy. This system will be free for other designers to use in their own games and it doesn’t supersede existing game rules. More information about Animus and the E=Cube will be coming soon as we get closer to a definite launch date.
To give you a taste of Animus, here are some pics of the cards!:

Fallen Order coming soon…

Posted: October 3, 2011 in Uncategorized

Coming Soon from Nightstalker Games:

Fallen Order (Finalist from the The Unofficial TGC Design Challenge 1)

The apocalyptic battle of Good versus Evil!

Will you fight for Good and save the universe?
Will you battle for Evil and destroy existence?

It is the end of the world. The prophesied apocalypse is happening and the final battle between Good and Evil will decide the fate of the universe. Governments and social order have all fallen apart and the barriers of reality are broken. Great fissures have opened up across the earth, opening up gateways to Hell. Demons have come forth to destroy humanity. The weak ones inhabit corpses creating flesh eating zombies while the more powerful ones create destructive nightmarish forms. A small group of people find themselves up against this unearthly evil and must find a way to band together despite their conflicting personalities. Fortunately for them, the skies have opened up, revealing the Gates to Heaven. Warrior Angels descend to provide assistance but the battle is to be decided by the people. If Good wins, Hell can be closed forever and everlasting peace will reign. The Demons refuse to be trapped in Hell for eternity and prefer to destroy existence. If they can devour enough souls, Good, and the universe along with it, will be eradicated.

Choose a side and battle it out in this action packed, dice and card game!

As Evil, you will command an unrelenting stream of zombies while bringing forth powerful demons to wage total destruction.

As Good, you must put together a motley crew of bickering humans and equip them with weapons to battle the evil demons. Call upon Angelic warriors to help turn the tide of battle!

“If I’m Going Down…”

Posted: August 11, 2011 in Uncategorized

You WILL Die!

If I’m Going Down… (or IIGD) is the first ever Dying Card Game (or DCG) from Van Ryder Games. A DCG is a card game in which it is certain that the character(s) WILL die. For 1 to 2 players (expandable to 3 to 4 with a 2nd copy), IIGD is set in a world overrun by zombies. Unlike virtually every other Zombie game, your goal is not to survive, but to kill as many zombies as possible before you die, which results in very engrossing solo or cooperative play.

IIGD puts you smack in the middle of a hopeless scenario where endless zombies lurch and ramble toward you, never stopping until you are dead, or become one of them (Zead). You must gather and use weapons and resources to take as many of the abominations as you can with you.

Nightstalker Games is being featured in an article by Senpai Magazine. This magazine is a great source of anime information, games, manga and conventions. Please take a moment and check out the article here:  http://senpaimagazine.com/blog/?p=449

Greywood Publishing was formed in 2004 and is a successful publisher of Role Playing Games and Cards Games.

Epic Adventure Dungeon Crawl is a solo* player card game set in the fantasy world of Darcanthia. You create a character (thief, fighter or sorcerer) and then lower yourself into a dungeon looking for the finale. You must overcome traps, monsters and random encounters designed to stop you from achieving your goal.

Dungeon Crawl uses the Epic Adventure 2d6 rules and each game should take 20 – 30 minutes to play. Because of the random manor of the dungeon generation, each game should be very different to the previous one. Several expansions are available including Blackthorn Forest, Treliar City, Murkwood Swamp and QUEST.

*the game expands to 2 player with the QUEST expansion.

Sarge’s Comics, one of the largest comic shops in New England, will be hosting a 24 Hour Comics and Games Day on Saturday, June 18, 2011 in New London, CT. It will run a full 24 hours from noon Saturday to noon Sunday. Nightstalker Games will be there to give players an opportunity to play our fun, cool games! We’ll also be showing off games made by other game designers. So, if you are in the area, take some time to come over and join in on all the fun!

Due to changes in shipping and packaging procedures, all of the Nightstalker Games Products have had some price changes. The procedures have changed in an effort to provide you with better products and service.  Now you have two options when ordering a game. You can opt to purchase a game with a full color box and tuckbox at it’s regular price or you can purchase the same game with no box art at a very reduced price. The reduced price version comes in a sturdy white box with no artwork, however a black and white sticker is included to affix to the box. The quality of the game components inside are the same regardless of which version you order. We thank you for your continued support!
